Senior Iranian Sunni cleric from province of Golestan related on the status of women and mother in view of Islam stressing the esteem and honor the holy religion brought for women.

Akhoond Ghadiri, professor of Chenarli seminary in Golestan province, lauded Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (AS), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), as example for all women and highlighted the high status women achieved following Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He referred to several instances in holy Qur’an and hadith praising Hazrat Fatemeh (AS) and highlighted the respect Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam, had for the lady.
 
The Sunni cleric related on the title ‘Zahra’, a nick name for Hazrat Fatemeh (AS), translating that to a person with particular ranking in both visage and character.
 
Akhoond Ghadiri referred to desperate situation of women in pre-Islam era and said,” Islam was revealed amid a hopeless situation to introduce the true status of women to all as the Almighty God has described the heaven lying under women’s feet.”
 
The prominent cleric alluded to Qur’anic verse forbidding men from punishing the women and recommending them of the best behavior with women.
 
Iranian Sunni cleric made the remarks in the wake of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (AS) also known as Mothers’ Day in the Shia community.
