A self-proclaimed “serious Christian” Dutch teacher has been suspended after making scandalous comments targeting Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

The 49-year-old engineering instructor had been working at the Hoofdvaart College in the Netherlands’ Hoofddorp town for five years when his comments landed him in hot water at the end of January when he allegedly called the prophet a “pedophile” in front of his students, the Dutch daily De Telegraaf reports.
He allegedly said to his students that the Prophet Muhammad was married to an eight-year-old girl, and that adults who marry children are considered as pedophiles in the Netherlands.
The teacher, who has been suspended for three months, denies having made any of the comments and said, “I have nothing against Muslims. I do not want to insult them.”
