Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi Fard, member of the Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council in the first convention of the Shia and Sunni Sayyids (descendents of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)), highlighted the principles shared by Shia and Sunni Muslims as the keys to Muslim unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” Muslim nation has key principles to boost unity amongst its members and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is one of the most important of them.”

The cleric highlighted holy Qur’an as the second principle, holy reference for Muslims which has stayed clear of distortion 14 centuries after Islam.

Interim prayer leader of Tehran noted prayer and shared Qibla (praying direction) as the third and Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) the fourth key to Muslim unity.

“The most important characteristic of Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) include purity in ethics, good deeds, kindness, knowledge and true belief in the Almighty God” said Hujjat-ul-Islam Aboutorabi urging Shia and Sunni Sayyids to follow the role model.

He addressed the Sunni participants in the meeting and said,” Islamic nation is not acknowledged over your affection for the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)” calling them to voice their loyalty for Ahlul Bayt (AS.)
