Ayatollah Mohammad Alavi Gorgani, top Shia jurisprudent expressed regret over the merciless beheading of a 6-year-old Shia pilgrim in Medina denouncing that as manifestation of brutal and irrational approach followed by the Wahhabis, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric referred to historical instances of Shiaphobia dating back to the early years of Islam when a woman at the time of Imam Sadeq (AS), sixth Shia Imam, was savagely beaten by Abbasid security forces over expressing the sufferings of Hazrat Zahra (AS), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
He expressed regret over the brutal beheading of 6-year-old pilgrim, Zakariya Bader al-Jabir, riding a taxi with her mother as the latter’s salutation for the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) irked the driver to break the window of his car and slit the baby boy’s throat in front of her mother.
Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani reiterated,” To behead a little boy is proof for violence and irrationality of the Wahhabis who have no mercy even for a defenseless child.”
This is while different Muslim groups and luminaries have issued separate messages rebuking the barbaric move.
