Ayatollah Abbas Soleimani, representative of the Supreme Leader in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan met with Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Qomi, director of the Organization of Islamic Development hailing the solidarity of Shia and Sunni communities in Iran as true unity and not a tactic, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He praised the launching of Organization of Islamic Development as an inspiration by late Imam Khomeini (RA) in need of acceleration in regards to necessities of the society.
The cleric said,” We intend to materialize true Islam recommending worship of Almighty God and rejecting the tyrants.”
Ayatollah Soleimani criticized “cultural recession” and alluded to the Supreme Leader warning of “cultural Tsunami” stressing the demand for cultural unity.
“Unity of Shia and Sunni is not a matter of form but a reality” said the cleric and called for solidarity on differences and added,” Unity is a matter of tactic while our solidarity with the Sunni community is not a matter of form merely to confront our enemies but a real solidarity.”
