Iran’s Parliament passes bill banning desecration of ethnical, religious groups
New bill is passed by Iranian Parliament as a majority of 114 MPs voted for the law banning desecration of ethnicities and religious groups in the country.
 
Signed by 84 Members of Parliament, desecration of ethnicities and religious groups is banned in Iran and the perpetrators violating the law will be legally fined, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
With a majority of 114 to 36, Iranian Parliament has passed bill to ban desecration of religions, denominations and ethnical groups in the country.
 
The bill has been signed by 84 MPs and will be enforced across the country to fine any measure violating the honor of different religious or ethnical groups.
 
Apart from the legislation body, the religious statement (fatwa) banning sacrilege of the Sunni sanctities has previously been issued by the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, an act of respect and recognition for the Sunni minority living in the Shia country.
