Iranian cleric has stressed Islamic unity discourse as the sole way to confront Wahhabism as elites and religious figures attended the meeting in the Iranian Province of Qom discussing necessity of Islamic unity against enemies.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Rabbanimanesh, Iranian cleric attended the meeting on maintaining Islamic unity in religious ceremonies stressed the way religious ceremonies are held as one of the most important origins for maintaining solidarity among different Islamic denominations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He called for introduction of a role model for religious gatherings to maintain Islamic unity during ceremonies.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mahdi Farmanian, research deputy of the University of Islamic Denominations in this meeting defined Islamic unity as a joint objective followed by all Muslims and added,” We have to array in the same line against enemies in order to defend our objectives and our assets.”
He called political unity as the most important aspect of unity and added,” The relationship between Muslims is defined in this arena though the present world of Islam has problems in this line.”
The cleric also called the people, scholars and researchers to struggle for promoting religious proximity as the grounds for strengthening Islamic unity.
He warned of the repercussions of desecrating Sunni sanctities and said the move will be followed by reciprocal measures against our sanctities.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Farmanian noted that Shia ideologies should be protected and promoted among Shia meanwhile utmost attention to maintain intra-faith relations in line with safeguarding Islam.
“To desecrate Sunni sanctities has turned to a way to attract people to Wahhabism” said the cleric and warned any illogical move towards other denominations might bring the damage to Islam.
The cleric warned,” Inconsiderate moves in line with challenging Sunni community will pave the grounds for promotion of Wahhabism.”
