Iranian Sunni cleric warns:

“Some people earn living through Takfirism”

2 Dec 2018 - 12:23

Prominent Iranian Sunni cleric attended the major conference on Islamic unity in the Province of Kermanshah denouncing those who earn their living through promoting Takfirism.

Mamusta Qaderi, prayer leader of the Sunni community in Paveh, Kermanshah Province, highlighted the historical unity of the Shia and Sunni communities in Kermanshah Province hailing them for boosting their solidarity during the four decades following the Islamic Revolution, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The cleric referred to the statement issued by the Supreme Leader in 2010 on necessity of respecting Sunni sanctities and the global media feedback on it.

He said,” Qatar’s Al Jazeera channel analyzed the statement issued by the Supreme Leader quoting prominent Sunni scholars hailing fatwa (religious statement) in a higher stance to a previous fatwa issued by renowned Sunni leader Sheikh Mahmood Shaltoot (1893-1963) calling Shia Muslims as brothers.”

Prayer leader of Paveh rejected violence and Takfir (excommunication) as illogical and slammed Shia and Sunni extremists who “earn their living” by discriminating and excommunicating other denominations.

Mamusta Qaderi reiterated the efforts of Sunni community against cultural invasions and moves to deviate the youths towards violence and extremism.
