Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince, Mohamed Bin Salman, yesterday reaffirmed their commitment to the over a year-long Qatar blockade, Al-Arabiya has reported.

In June 2017, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt severed ties with Qatar and imposed a complete blockade on Doha accusing it of “supporting terrorism.” Qatar vehemently denies the allegations.
During a closed meeting held in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, Sisi and Bin Salman stressed that they would accept “no concessions” to the reconciliation terms with Qatar, which were previously agreed upon by the blockade countries.
The two leaders added that their countries would continue to confront what they described as “Iranian interferences in other countries in the region.” Sisi pointed out that he had sent a letter to the Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to preserving the security in the Gulf.
Salman arrived in Egypt on Monday, as part of his first foreign tour since the murder of the killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul on 2 October.
Nearly 100 Egyptian journalists were reported to have rejected Salman’s visit, holding him responsible for Khashoggi’s murder. Also, a wide number of activists in Tunisia and other Arab countries included in Salman’s tour have also expressed their opposition to receiving the Saudi Prince.
