Cleric demands global support for Yemeni, Palestinian nations

Top Lebanese cleric demanded world Muslim leaders to help the oppressed people across the globe stressing necessity of support for the Palestinian and Yemeni nations.

Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Amir Kabalan head of Lebanon’s Supreme Shia Council stressed special attention for the issue of Palestine urging leaders in Islamic and Arab governments to support the oppressed nations across the globe particularly Yemeni and Palestinian people, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called the issue of Palestine a critical issue and slammed normalization of ties with the Zionist regime, a recent move by some Arab states saying,” Arab nations should firmly stand against Zionist atrocities and revive the rights of Palestinian nation.”
 
Head of the supreme Shia Council also touched upon the issue of Yemeni nation and called leaders of the Islamic and Arab countries to prevent mass killing of Yemeni people due to famine and diseases.
 
Ayatollah Kabalan also referred to recent measurs by Al-Kalifa regime sentencing prominent Shia cleric Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Ali Salman and a number of political activists to life imprisonment and denounced Al Kalifa crackdown of peaceful movements in Bahrain.
 
Senior Shia scholar made the remarks in a ceremony for passing anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
