Cleric praises Arba’een for manifesting Islamic unity
Top Shia scholar praised the massive participation of people from different religions and denominations in Arba’een pilgrimage as a manifestation of the solidarity of the Islamic nation.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, Secretary General of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly, noted pilgrimage as a tribute to the household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and a show of unity among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said,” When people commemorate Arba’een, they endeavor to revive the objectives of the third Shia Imam and make a true follower of Imam Hussein (AS).
“Those loyal to Imam Hussein (AS), from all religions, gather from across the globe to attend Arba’een ceremony” said the scholar and hailed that as glorious manifestation of solidarity in the world of Islam.
Back in 680 AD, Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) rose against the tyrant ruler of his time, Yazid ibn Muawiyah to fight against him in the Battle of Karbala were the Imam and 72 of his household and loyal companions were martyred to make a historical landmark for the Shia community.
Ashura, the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) is annually commemorated on Muharram 10th and forty days following that is marked as Arba’een with millions of Muslims heading to the holy city of Karbala on a pilgrimage.
