Tunisia’s trade deficit increasing to $5bn

Tunisia’s trade deficit rose during the first nine months of this year to reach more than 14 billion Tunisian dinars ($5 billion), according to a report published by Tunisia’s State Statistics Institute .


The trade deficit during the same period last year stood at $4.07 billion, the report explained.
The report pointed out that total trade deficit is calculated on the level of commercial exchanges made with all countries that Tunisia deals with. The recorded trade deficit amounted to $5 billion, with the deficient in trade with China reaching $1.4 billion. The deficit with Italy stood at $746.4 million, with Turkey it was $570.5 million, with Algeria $452.4 million and with Russia standing ta $351 million.
