Prominent cleric has attended the meeting at major Islamic unity center counting achievements of the University of Islamic Denominations under the new management.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations (UID) has attended the meeting of supreme council at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought counting the educational, research, cultural and international achievements of the major religious academy among many moves made during the new management in the past year, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called the University of Islamic Denominations as the leading university and educational center on different Islamic schools of thought with the objective of turning to one of the master academies in Iran and the world of Islam.
 
The cleric counted membership of the University in International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), resuming a canceled membership in Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FIUW), membership in union of Iran and Arab universities as some of the most important moves by the academy.
 
He also referred to creating think tanks to discuss Islamic nation, diplomacy of unity, desired future for Islamic nation and studies to add new majors at the university, plans for admitting international students and also reviewing subjects of the curriculum at the University of Islamic Denominations among activities taken within the academy.
 
According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Mokhtari the University of Islamic Denominations measures to launch branches of UID in other countries, launching a study center affiliated to UID, increasing the periodicals and magazines by UID, planning and holding entrance examinations to admit Shia and Sunni students, providing grounds to materialize Islamic proximity and holding international conferences with proximity approaches have also been some noticeable achievements to be reported during the past year achievements of UID.
 
He also referred to surge in admitting new students to UID in comparison with previous years as the academy has launched its branches in the Iranian Provinces of Qom, Bushehr and Golestan.
 
Directed by Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, Islamic University of Denominations is an affiliate of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought led by Ayatollah Mohsen Araki.
 
The major Islamic academy admits Shia and Sunni students from across the globe providing them with an ambiance of coexistence in line with objective of both centers to boost ties among all Islamic denominations
