Dagestan airs first program on proximity of religions

Following an agreement between Shia mosque and the state television of the country, the first program on proximity of religions was aired in the Republic of Dagestan.

Following an agreement between Shia mosque and Dagestan state television, the first program on proximity of religions was aired in the Russian Republic. 

The 30-minute program included the daily activities in Makhachkala mosque and a speech by Dagestan Imam Hujjatul Islam Mazaher Muhammadev. 

Hujjatul Islam Mazaher Muhammadev in his speech stressed the necessity of unity between the religions in the Republic of Dagestan and also Islam's stress on the importance of proximity of religions. 

"Our religion highlights the unity among all Islamic Schools of Thought", said Prayer leader of Makhachkala mosque and invited those interested to visit the mosque and the activities in person. 

Central mosque of Makhachkala is one of the biggest mosques in Europe, built like famous “Blue mosque” in Istanbul. 

The mosque is becoming larger every year retaining however its proportions and harmony. Originally the mosque was meant for 6,000 - 7,000 people. As it was expanded, 17,000 people can stay inside at the same time.
