Western media tarnishing image of true Islam
Hujjat-ul-Islam Majid Ghorbanali Doulabi, member of the academic board at University of Islamic Denominations (UID) attended the international conference on ‘Culture and Civilization’ held in Raden Fatah State Islamic University counting the human values stressed in Islam as part of the culture and civilization of the holy religion, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Iranian cleric explained his article on ‘Human Values even in Wartime’ and said,” There are a set of principles and ethical laws which has Islam mandated on us to maintain even during war.”

He noted that a part of culture and civilization foundation includes human and ethical principles which are mandatory for Muslims obliging us to maintain them even in wartime.

He said,” The first human and Islamic value is calling people to Islam before confrontation meaning that Islam prioritizes calling to the holy religion before waging war on a nation (as we have learnt from the lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Ahlul Bayt (AS)).”

Member of the academic board at University of Islamic Denominations referred to asylum seeking as the second situation which mandates Muslims to grant the right to non-believers when accordingly all Muslims are called to maintain all rights for a refugee as holy book of Islam recommends doing so.

The third principle, according to the Iranian cleric, is immunity for the elderly, children, women and the mad making them an exception from military attacks.

He added,” The fourth principle forbids undermining ones promise, one of the most important human Islamic principles recommended in several Qur’anic verses.”

Hujjat-ul-Islam Doulabi counted ban on some inhumane behaviors, including dismembering others, be it an savage animal, as another Islamic principle.

He said,” The sixth principle is the behavior with prisoners of war as Islam bans enslavement of these detainees rather means to familiarize them with Islamic culture, call them to the holy religion to pave the ground for their liberation.”

The international seminar is held as part of the visit made by Iranian delegation to the Islamic university in Indonesia making the second of such scientific trip to a former visit paid by Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations in line with boosting academic cooperation with other Islamic academies across the globe.
