Iran, Indonesia hold joint conference on Islamic law

Delegation of Iranian religious figures, academicians from Iran’s major Islamic university has made visit to Islamic University of Palembang, South Sumatra, to discuss different aspects of Islamic law.

Raden Fatah State Islamic University, south Sumatra has held international seminar on ‘The International Dialogues on Islamic Law’ in a joint effort with visiting academic delegation of religious figures from Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations to discuss different aspects of Islamic law applied in two Muslim countries, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hujjat-ullah Ebrahimian, research deputy of the University of Islamic Denominations (UID), professor Romli, dean of the faculty of law, Raden Fatah University and Doctor Zein-ul-Abedin, prominent professor of law were among the lecturers at the seminar held in major religious university in Palembang.
 
Iran’s doctor Ebrahimian in his speech related on function of the Guardians Council and status of the jurisprudence in the Islamic Republic of Iran in regards to Islamic constitution.
 
Doctor Romli, chairman of Raden Fatah State Islamic University also related Indonesia constitution and five key principles in that while doctor Zein-ul-Abedin explained Indonesian constitution compiled as a democratic republic with Muslim people living under a democratic government unlike Iran which is an Islamic republic.
 
Doctor Baqeri, deputy of the Islamic Denominations University, referred to role of seminaries and religious scholars in the Islamic Republic of Iran discussing his views on the foundations of the system in Iran.
 
Professors form Iranian and Indonesian universities explained the prerogatives of constitutions in their countries.

Conference on ‘The International Dialogues on Islamic Law’ was held on the sideline of an academic visit made by Iranian professors and religious figures to the major Islamic university in Indonesia following a previous visit paid by head of UID, Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari in line with boosting scientific cooperation between the two countries.
