Indonesian academy proposes launching Islamic proximity center

Prominent Indonesian university hosts a delegation of Iranian religious figures calling for cooperation with Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations (UID) in order to launch an Islamic proximity center.


A delegation of Shia and Sunni professors and religious figures from Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations has visited Indonesia’s Raden Fatah State Islamic University discussing ways to expand cooperation between the two religious academies in line with Muslim unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Professor Ismail, head of the post graduate programs in Raden Fatah University announced preparations for joint cooperation between the two academies and proposed launching “center for Proximity of Islamic  Denominations” in the Indonesian university which was welcomed by the Iranian visiting delegation.
 
Doctor Reza Saberi, educational deputy of the University of Islamic Denominations also stressed grounds for mutual cooperation between the two religious academies including educational courses, student swap programs, joint publication of magazines and study opportunities among many other topics.
 
The visit by Iranian academicians is made following a recent trip made by Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari leading a Shia, Sunni board of professors in line with expanding educational cooperation with Islamic centers in Indonesia.
 
Based on religious principles and Islamic proximity and maintaining the lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), University of Islamic Denominations (UID) has been training Shia and Sunni scholars in an ambiance of coexistence and friendship.
