A delegation from Iranian Islamic university is on visit to Indonesia’s Raden Fatah State Islamic University to reach agreement over a student and professor swap deal in line with academic cooperation between the two countries.

Iranian delegation from the University of Islamic Denominations (UID) met with Professor Sirozi, head of Indonesia’s Raden Fatah Islamic University in a bid to pursue a previously made agreement for educational cooperation between the two academic centers, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Professor Sirozi said a meeting between the deans of nine faculties from Indonesian religious university and visiting Iranian delegation will be held to detail the paragraphs and make practical proposals for a previous students swap agreement.
 
The meeting is made following a previous trip by another delegation of Shia and Sunni religious figures led by Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations to Indonesia in mid August discussing ways for boosting proximity between different Islamic schools of thought.
 
As a major religious academy in Iran and an affiliate of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, University of Islamic Denominations was launched at the inspiration of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic. The academy is training scholars from different Islamic schools of thought with the aim of boosting the culture of proximity and coexistence between all Muslims. The university is active in the capital Tehran, Zahedan, Sanandaj and Bandar Abbas. There are yet plans for launching the branches of the academy abroad.
 
Raden Fatah State Islamic University is an Indonesian Islamic public university in Palembang capital of Sumatra Founded in 1964 a year after a group of Muslim scholars from across the nation agreed to launch a sharia law faculty.
