Iran to launch university of Islamic denominations abroad

Iranian scholar leading delegation to Indonesia announced plans to launch branch of Islamic Denominations University in other countries stressing the capabilities of southeastern Asian country for the academy.




Hujjat-ul- Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations, in a meeting with Jalaludin Rahmat, Indonesian Member of Parliament discussing views of the Iranian academy announcing plans for launching branch of the Iranian academy in Indonesia, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Iranian scholar in this meeting highlighted the proximity approach followed by the University of Islamic Denominations and announced preparation of the academy to share experiences in line with introducing non-extremist readings of religion.
 
Indonesian figure praised the approach and objectives followed by Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations and expressed regret over activities of some extremist Arab countries in Indonesia which go the opposite path to proximity discourse.
 
Member of the Supreme Council of Islamic Unity Conference said,” Regarding the fact that Indonesia is a Muslim majority country, it has the capacities for launching a branch of the University of Islamic Denominations in Indonesia and achieve the objectives of both countries in the move.”
 
Leader of Ahlul Bayt (AS) association, Jalaluddin Rahmat is among moderate and popular figures in Indonesia Muslim community.
 
Iranian delegation led by Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari also includes Akhoond Noorizad, prayer leader of the Sunni community in Gonbad-e Kavus.
