Tehran to transfer rehabilitation-related experiences to Baku
"Iran is ready to transfer its experiences in the fields of rehabilitation and health insurances to Azerbaijan," Iranian Health Minister said.

Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi made the remarks in a Thursday meeting in Baku with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Sahil Babayev.
Touching upon Iran’s wide experiences in helping people with disabilities, offering rehabilitation services and providing health insurances, Health Minister expressed readiness to share this knowledge with Azerbaijan’s health sector.
Iran currently has a very privileged position in the region in terms of rehabilitation skills and related scientific capabilities, he said, adding that there is a specialist universitiy of rehabilitation studies active in Iran.
He further refereed to recent achievements of Iran in its health sector, highlighting that, “in this term and with the support of Iranian President and Parliament, we were able to turn health sector into one of the top priorities of the country.”
For his part, Babayev described his country’s relations with Iran in social welfare and health sector as “important”.
Azerbaijan, too, has similar achievements and some problems in rehabilitation services and social welfare, he said, adding that Baku is ready to boost cooperation with Tehran in this regard.
The increased political and economic ties between Tehran and Baku requires that the two countries further expand cooperation in other areas, such as health sector and social welfare, he added.
Arriving at Baku airport Thrusday morning atop a high-ranking delegation from Ministry of Health and private sector, Hashemi said the 2-day visit aims at expanding medical cooperation.
He held meetings with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Healthcare Ogtay Shiraliyev and Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev on Thursday.
Hashemi is scheduled to meet Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and also visit some medical centers of the Northwestern neighbor on Friday.
