“Contrary to its claims, the hostile and obstinate front formed against the Islamic establishment and the Iranian nation, is made up of only a few Western domineering countries, and spares no efforts to impede Iran’s scientific progress,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in an address to a group of Iranian academics and students in Tehran on Tuesday.

The Leader called for the continuation of the country’s scientific progress, saying a part of the current sanctions and pressure against Iran is meant to prevent the Iranian nation from achieving scientific progress.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 is the main reason for Iran’s progress, and the country’s enemies have not been able to hinder the country’s scientific achievements ever since.

The United States, Israel, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program and have used the unfounded accusation as a pretext to impose illegal sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

Iran rejects the allegations, arguing that as a committed signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

In addition, the IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities but has never found any evidence showing that Iran’s civilian nuclear program has been diverted to nuclear weapons production.
