"Christmas, call for convergence among all religions", Lebanese cleric

Lebanese Christian cleric highlighted monotheism as the common belief between Islam and Christianity and called birth anniversary of Prophet Jesus Christ as the time for convergence of all holy religions.

Aili Sadir, manager of church in Lebanon's city of Zahle, in an interview with IQNA conducted on birth anniversary of Prophet Jesus Christ related on Christian beliefs in common with Islam stressing that Christmas is in fact a call for convergence of all religions, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He referred to the return of the last savior and messiah as the common belief between Christianity and Islam.
 
He added," The second return is based on teaching derived from the holy Bible as prophet Jesus Christ had promised to provide the necessary ground for his second return."
Senior cleric referred to the status of Jesus Christ (AS) in Islam and also challenges of interfaith dialogue and coexistence between Christianity and Islam.
 
"Jesus Christ has a particular stance in the holy book of Islam" said the cleric and referred to the outstanding wording of the book for defining the birth of Jesus Christ.
 
Aili Sadir noted," What joins us based on our commonalities exceed those different amongst us" stressing the commonalities of Christianity and Islam and added," Christianity and Islam are committed to monotheism in their ideas and culture and this.
 
Lebanese cleric made the comments in the wake of the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ.
