Top Iranian official called for more attention upon commonalities of different Islamic denominations, particularly al-Aqsa Mosque which whose liberation is the shared concern of all Islamic countries.

Homeira Rigi, Iran's ambassador in Brunei, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) conducted on the sideline of the opening ceremony of 33rd Islamic Unity Conference highlighted defense of al-Aqsa Mosque as the most important issue which should be pursued by Muslim world.
 
She referred to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Qibla (Muslims' praying direction) and Qur'an as the common assets of all Muslims and demanded Al Aqsa Mosque to be counted as the complementary to the list."
 
Iranian ambassador added," Regarding the disagreements and tensions, already known as Shiaphobia or Sunniphobia shared assets like al-Aqsa Mosque should be maintained with more seriousness."
 
Iranian ambassador in Brunei said," Convergence, cooperation and solidarity to solve the issue of Palestine has the potentiality to alleviate disagreements between denominations as the Zionist regime has struggled to distance the public, especially Muslims, from the issue of Palestine and occupation of al-Aqsa Mosque along with hatching plots to divide Islamic nation."
 
She hailed Islamic Unity Conference as the best opportunity to invite Muslim figures from across the world and recognize four decades of struggle by Islamic Republic of Iran for freedom of Palestinian lands and people."
