People in the Iranian city of Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, recite the holy Qur’an during the month of Ramadan, ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar. Muslims fast during this month abstaining from eating and drinking. Qur’an recitation and prayer are especially recommended in this month.
