Wahhabism and genocide of Shias in Africa

An outcome of Saudi petrodollars generously paid to extremist groups in Africa is massacre of Shia and crackdown of the Shia community there.
Wahhabism and genocide of Shias in Africa
When Wahhabis failed to spread their extremist ideologies in Africa, they started to pursue various methods to settle the issue and vast expansion of the fake ideology in the continent.

One of the most important methods was to admit African students in Saudi universities, building schools and launching so-called Islamic societies to achieve their objective, promotion of Wahhabism.

Saudi endeavors to promote Wahhabsim in Africa provoked reactions from some western media when in 2017 American magazine Globalist in a report wrote that the US should not stay indifferent to Saudi propagandas to expand Wahhabism and violence in Africa.

The report noted that Saudi Arabia has shamelessly launched the biggest diplomatic campaign in the past 50 years allocating billions of dollars to spread extremist analysis of Islam which strengthened the power of extremist groups across the globe.

The Globalist added,” Saudi Arabia granted asylum to Mohammad Yousef, founder of the terrorist group ‘Boko Haram’ who had fled Nigeria while the activists believe there was explicit relations between Saudi funds pouring into Nigeria and relevance of prejudice and efforts to marginalize the Shia.

A repercussion of vast financial and non-financial aids by Saudi Arabia is a surge in prejudice and anti-Shia atrocities in Africa.

In June 2018 a number of Wahhabis attacked “Imam Hussein (AS)” Shia mosque in South Africa killing one and wounding another person.

The atrocity was followed by arson attack on the library in the mosque including Qur’an and other religious books including Sunni reference books.

A bomb planted under the pulpit was defused with the police vowing to arrest the perpetrators.
