Tehran, Riyadh reach agreement over Hajj 2019

Negotiating delegate from the Islamic Republic of Iran has met with Saudi minister of Hajj signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for participation of Iranian Hajj pilgrims in the upcoming pilgrimage in 2019.

Alireza Rashidian, head of Iran’s Hajj Pilgrimage Organization met with Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mohammad Saleh Benten to discuss the issues in previous ceremonies and also participation of Iranian pilgrims in Hajj 2019, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Among the paragraphs in this memorandum were launching the bureau of Iran’s Organization of Hajj and Pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia in a bid to lubricate the issue of visas, accommodation of the executive committees and a consulate team for pursuit of functional problems.
 
According to the deal signed between Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia 86’500 Iranian pilgrims will participate in Hajj 2019.
 
Hajj is the first important Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca annually held on eighth to thirteenth day of Dhu al-Hajjah this year on Friday 9th-14th of August 2019, tentative date as the actual date is contingent with the sighting of the moon of Dhul Hajjah.
