Oman supported Syria for years, says Assad

“The Sultanate of Oman has been understandable to the dimensions of the war in Syria,” the Syrian President, Bashar Al-Assad, revealed yesterday.
Oman supported Syria for years, says Assad
Assad said that Oman did not sever its relationship with Damascus in the wake of the Syrian crisis, despite a “complete disconnection by Arab, regional and international countries.”
“Muscat has a deeper understanding of what is happening in Syria, the dimensions of the international war that has been launched against it, and the terrorist organisations the country has been subjected to,” Assad told an Omani newspaper.
Most of the Arab countries have cut ties with the Syrian regime since the outbreak of the war in the Arab country in 2011. The government has been also facing an international isolation following its crimes against Syrians who fought protests to demand the regime’s fall.
Assad and Oman’s foreign minister met yesterday in Damascus to discuss ideas that have been put forward to address the Syrian crisis.
