Shia has no relations with extremism

Secretary general of Greece Shia association says the western world and European people are fully aware of Takfiri groups and that there is no relations between the Shia community and extremist groups.

Seyyed Ashir Haidar, secretary general of the Shia association in Greece stressed importance of unity among Muslims as the prerequisite for reviving their rights in the non-Muslim context of Europe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said the group has focused efforts not only on the Shia community but also all Muslims particularly excluding Wahhabi groups.
 
He referred to unfriendly ties between Takfiri and Wahhabi groups with European people saying,” Western nations have fully known them and found no relations between the Shia and Takfiri or extremists.”
 
He hailed the sacrifices made by the Shia Muslims in order to expand teachings of true Islam expressing regret over misconceptions allegedly related to the Shia saying,” This is a wrong image that Shia does not read Qur’an as our association has launched Qur’an classes in Shia centers across Greece.”
 
Seyyed Ashir Haidar also referred to a multimedia project on Islamic principles which will shed light on l misconceptions against Shia and Sunni stressing that there is no major difference between the two Islamic denominations and rejecting several allegations propagated by the west.
 
Muslim activist highlighted importance of solidarity and that once Muslims do not gather in one body they would not be able to revive their rights in the non-Muslims context of Europe.

According to Shia association of Greece nearly 5’000 Shia from different nationalities including the Greek live in the country.
