Najaf’s religious cleric, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid ‎Sadruddin al-Qubanchi said that the United States was compelled to lift sanctions against Iran ‎and said, “Just as the United States exempted eight countries from its sanctions on Iran, ‎they must exempt Iraq as well. The Iraqi government and people aren’t willing to follow the ‎cruel sanctions against Iran.”‎

The Iraqi Shi’ah, according to Rasa, welcomed the positions of new Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi in support of ‎the Popular Mobilization Forces and thanked him for not joining the United States in the ‎sanctions on Iran.‎

He stated, “The stances and statements of Adil Abdul-Mahdi against the United States will ‎lead to the dignity of Iraq.”‎

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi also thanked Luay al-Khatib, the Minister for Electricity, for failing ‎to comply with an order by the United States not to buy electricity from Iran.‎

His Eminence condemned Bahrain’s normalization of relations with the Zionist regime and the ‎Al Khalifah regime’s human rights abuses against the Bahraini people, saying, “Bahrain, while ‎establishing a Research Centre for Peaceful Living with the membership of the Zionist regime, ‎has condemned Hujjat al-Islam Ali Salman, the head of the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society ‎and an advocate of human rights, to life imprisonment.”‎

He added that Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are seeking the normalization of relations with the ‎Zionist regime, which considers Iran and Shi’ism a threat to themselves.‎

Hujjat al-Islam al-Qubanchi stressed that we are confident that the Bahraini government will ‎be overthrown soon.‎

In his sermon on religious issues, he congratulated the believers on the anniversary of the ‎hijrah or migration of the Prophet Muhammad and his followers from Makkah to Madinah ‎and on Laylat al-Mabit, the night on which they emigrated, and said, “The celebration of the ‎visit by the ‘Commander of the Faithful,’ Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib on the birth anniversary of ‎the Prophet Muhammad was successfully held and three million pilgrims attended this ‎ceremony.”‎
