The Iraqi army announced on Sunday that 25 members of the Daesh militant group also known as Daesh had been killed and a number of the group’s sites and equipment were destroyed in Kirkuk, 300 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
Commander of the Kirkuk army forces, Major General Maan al-Saadi said Sunday the Iraqi army forces with the help of the international coalition had killed 25 terrorists in two sites in Kirkuk.
According to al- Saadi six terrorists were killed near the heights of Dibs; 30 km south of Kirkuk while 19 terrorists were killed in airstrikes carried out by the international coalition aircraft.
General, al- Saadi explained that the Iraqi forces are closely monitoring the movement of the remaining terrorists, who are trying to penetrate the oil and gas-rich region.
