On the eve of the Arba’een ceremony and amid multi-million march of pilgrims from across the globe, Muslims from different denominations have stopped en route from Najaf to Karbala to hold the biggest congregational prayer in the world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The move has come amid a number of other measures taken by participants in the ceremony manifesting Islamic solidarity.

 
Tens of thousands of pilgrims led by over 750 prayer leaders in a bid to stress importance of prayers among many reasons for which the third Shia Imam rose.
 
Prayers in this unique ceremony stood along 40 kilometers with several media covering the event.
 
Participants called the massive joint prayer a manifestation of unity and that the path taken by the third Shia Imam was one for monotheism and worshipping the Almighty God.

 
Millions of Muslims from across the globe are heading to the Iraqi holy city of Iraq to mark martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who rose against the injustice and tyranny of the then ruler, Yazid ibn Muawiya .
 
The third Shia Imam and 72 of his close household members and loyal companions were martyred in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD. 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), is commemorated in Arba’een ceremony.
