Arba’een pilgrimage, manifestation of Islamic solidarity

31 Oct 2018 - 15:35

Member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts lauded participation of people from different religions and denominations in Arba’een ceremony to commemorate the third Shia Imam and highlighted the pilgrimage as a manifestation of solidarity between all Muslims.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hadi Malakouti, representative of Tabriz in Iran’s Assembly of Experts, referred to history of hardships Muslims faced to visit the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) calling Arba’een ceremony as manifestation of solidarity among Muslims across the globe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” Arba’een does not belong merely to Shia Muslims and participation of people from different religions and Islamic denominations has turned to a thorn in the side of the enemies of Islam.”

The cleric praised the commemoration of Imam Hussein (AS) an occasion that strengthens the ties between different Islamic denominations and also the fraternal ties between Muslims and other religions.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Malakouti referred to provocative ambiance created in the virtual world against Arba’een march and slammed endeavors to undermine solidarity of Muslims.

He praised Arba’een march to be in line with objectives of Imam Hussein (AS) and also unanimous movement of Muslims against oppression.

“The fact is that division among Muslims will pave the way for domination of enemies on Islamic lands” noted the cleric and warned of hostile moves to underestimate Arba’een ceremony.

Arba’een marks the anniversary of 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who was martyred together with 72 of his household members and loyal companions following uprising against the tyrant ruler of his time, Yazid ibn Muawiyah.
