Prominent Sunni cleric referred to the uprising by the third Shia Imam as a unique move which revived the name of Islam.
Islam survived due to Imam Hussein (AS) uprising
Mamusta Amin Rasti, prayer leader of Sunni community in Sanandaj, attended a gathering of religious scholars to laud Ashura and the school of Imam Hussein (AS) as a unique uprising among all uprisings against tyrants in history, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Iranian Sunni cleric said,” Several uprisings aimed political or personal ambitions but Imam Hussein (AS) was the only person who stood up against oppression and tyranny.”
 
He called Ashura as the best school to teach freedom and said,” Imam Hussein (AS) was beyond all political parties and belonged to all liberal people following Islam or any religion.”
 
Mamusta Amin Rasti referred to Sunni references hailing the third Shia Imam and glory of Ashura and said,” Love for Imam Hussein (AS) is not limited to followers of one denomination or a particular religion” and added,” Islam has survived due to the uprising of third Shia Imam.”
