English translation of “Women in Islam” published in US

Iranian Islamic assembly has published English translation of the book on different aspects of leading a Muslim woman’s life with a view on the life of women before and after revelation of Islam.

“Women in Islam” is the title for book by prominent Iranian thinker Muslim Allameh Seyyed Mohammad Hussein Tabatabaei, translated to English by Abuzar Ahmadi published in Dearborn Heights,  Michigan to study into identity, value, status and also legal rights of women in an Islamic society, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The author has opened the book with the history of women’s lives before Islam and during Chaldean, Assyrian, Roman Empire and ancient Greece before focusing on beginning of Islam to the present time.
 
The book continues with rights of women in marriage, inheritance, social character of women and also wives of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
 
Allameh Tabatabaei in his book has continued with 46 questions and answers on Islamic view on women and also a criticism on the article “A Study of Verses on Women” by an Iranian graduate of United States.
 
The English version of the book by Abuzar Ahmadi makes the second translation following the Arabic language published in Beirut.
 
Allameh Seyyed Mohammad Hussein Tabatabaei (1903-1981) was one of the most renowned Islamic thinkers and contemporary philosophers of Shia Islam. He is known for his major 27-volume exegesis of Qur’an, Tafsir al-Mizan.
