Jewish professor calls Ashura culture asset of humanity
Elnaz Lavian, Iranian Jewish professor, participated in conference on “Mission of Muslim Woman in Line with Hazrat Zeynab (AS) in Arbaeen” calling the third Shia Imam and his sister Hazrat Zeynab (AS) as characters that belong to all moralist and liberal people, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

She quoted Qur’anic verse calling all people to unite and urged all religions and denominations to follow the same role model against dispersion.

Iranian university professor lauded the perseverance of Hazrat Zeynab (AS) as the final flag bearer in the Battle of Karbala and a female figure who safeguarded the family limits throughout toughest times.

She said,” The culture of Hazrat Zeynab (AS) was one for monotheism, humanity, honor, politeness, gallantry and bravery” describing the granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who accompanied his brother in the Battle of Kabala in 680 AD.

Elnaz Lavian hailed Hazrat Zeynab (AS) as a perfect political female role model while maintaining Islamic teachings.

“Hazrat Zeynab (AS) effectively participated in political arena and battle fields leaving behind such a heroic legacy that her message has survived history” said the Jewish professor.

Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram when Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), and 72 of his family members and most loyal companions rose against the tyrant ruler of the time Yazid ibn Muawiyya and were martyred in the Battle of Karbala.

The loyalty of Hazrat Zeynab (AS), sister to Imam Hussein, to her brother and her support to stand up for ideals of her martyred brother has left an example among Muslims.
