Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Abdullahian, head of Islamic development organization in Shahroud, attended a meeting on Arbaeen ceremony calling for making the best of the time bringing Muslims from different denominations and non-Muslims together based on their respect for the third Shia Imam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He noted that the efforts of hosting Iraqi nation should be highly respected as each journey demands the host and the guest to maintain the rights of each other.

“Arbaeen is a time to hoist the flag for Islamic unity” said the cleric and added,” since the enemies were in pursuit of ways to spark conflict between Iranian and Iraqi nation and their plots were foiled due to vigilance of both nations and authorities.”

Professor at Shahroud seminary called Iraq as a supporter of Iranian values and said,” Iraqi top jurisprudence blocked the path for enemies in their wise comments.”

He expressed hope for perfect Arbaeen ceremonies.

Arbaeen is the 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) who was martyred in the Battle of Karbala in 680 AD with 72 of his family members and companions.

Millions of Muslims and also members of religious minorities march the way to the holy city of Karbala for Arbaeen as a sign of their loyalty for the third Shia Imam and his uprising against the tyrants of his time.
