Al-Wefaq secretary general:

Bahrain crisis, outcome of al-Kalifa marginalization of public

30 Sep 2018 - 12:37

Bahrain top Islamic movement has criticized Manama for excluding the people from three powers of government and that the law which counts the public as source of its power is not in fact prevalent.

Rima Shaalan, prominent Bahraini lawyer, quoted al-Wefaq Islamic Movement leader Sheikh Ali Salman in his Friday meeting in jail rebuking the current system in the Arab country for marginalizing the people from three government powers, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Bahraini lawyer noted that the prominent Shia cleric is spending the last three months of his jail term as he stresses justice, freedom and honor as demand for all Shia and Sunni citizens in the Persian Gulf state.

The cleric was quoted as saying,” We do not want a country where the Shia or Sunni communities are dishonored since we are in pursuit of a Bahrain where all people feel free and esteemed.”

Head of renowned Bahraini opposition movement al-Wefaq Party, Sheikh Ali Salman, has been sentenced by Al Kalifa regime to four years in jail in 2014 on charges of inciting hatred.
