Al-Azhar mufti vows retaking al-Quds from Israeli occupiers

29 Sep 2018 - 15:21

Head of Al-Azhar University called for more attention to the issue of al-Quds following new wave of evicting Palestinian families from their homes and vowed that the holy mosque will soon be freed from occupation of Tel Aviv regime.

Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayyeb, grand mufti of al-Azhar, in a recently televised program reiterated necessity of attention for the issue of Palestine announcing that the Egyptian academy has added a course on al-Quds to its curriculum in line with promoting scholarly views on the holy city, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” Al-Quds has been in peace only under Muslim rulers” stressing that the holy mosque should survive until it is retaken from occupying Zionist forces.

Egyptian scholar referred to recent eviction of another 50 Palestinian families from their homes expressing concern over impending homelessness of all Palestinian settlers.

“We are not living in an era of freedom and human rights since they are merely vain mottos infiltrated under tyrannical policies which target the poor and refugees” said Ahmad al-Tayyeb and added,” Zionist regime power is due to our weakness which is by itself an outcome of our dispersion.”

He said,” Throughout history, Quds has been at peace only under Muslim rulers and its seizure from Muslims has led to bloodshed and killing of its people by outsiders.”
