Cleric counts objectives of Iranian Islamic university

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Mokhtari, head of the University of Islamic Denominations (UID) has welcomed Ali Larijani, Iran’s Parliamentary spokesman provided a report on background, activities and also objectives of the university, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mokhtari said,” Promoting proximity, settling hostilities among Muslims, providing grounds for optimistic views and interaction among followers of different Islamic denominations are among missions of the University of Islamic Denominations as the Supreme Leader in a meeting with the university’s board of trustees had stressed necessity for launching such academy.”

The cleric referred to launching branches of the academy across Iran training Shia and Sunni scholars at different degrees for several fields of study.

He stressed,” The University of Islamic Denominations has focused all efforts on educating a generation preachers who can successfully promote proximity of denominations and make experts in seminaries and academies.”

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mokhtari also touched upon the academic and seminary aspect of the center calling UID as an unparalleled center for humanities and Islamic studies.

“A graduate of UID leads years of life in Islamic coexistence” said the cleric and noted that such a person can play a telling role in enlightening the minds of people particularly the younger generation.

According to Hujjat-ul-Islam Mokhtari the University of Islamic Denomination is a perfect manifestation of Islamic unity especially practiced in an academic ambiance.

Ali Larijani in this meeting hailed the activities pursued at the University of Islamic Denominations calling for more support for the academy.

He vowed cooperation for launching virtual courses at the academy.
