52nd Biennial Meeting of German Historians at the University of Munster is scheduled to discuss parallel religious societies with a focus on Catholic and Islamic communities.

Professor Thomas Gross Bolting and Daniel Gerster from University of Munster in Germany have issued press statement relating on objectives for the 52nd Biennial Meeting of German Historians which is set to be held on September 27th, 2018 namely focusing on Muslims claims on being marginalized in the modern German community, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
“Yesterday Catholics, Present Muslims: Comparison of Parallel Religious Societies” is the topic for an upcoming event to be held on September 27th, 2018 in Munster.
 
The two professors in their statement drew on common feelings of Catholics in the past and Muslims at present.
 
According to the statement Muslims have been criticizing a state of isolation in German society, a similar rebuke by 19th century Catholics who made a minority among majority of Protestants.
 
Professors at society of German historians and departments of religion and politics are scheduled to discuss the issue of parallel society (Parallelgesellschaft) used to define minority immigrants  to assess the righteousness of German society.
 
According to Daniel Gerster, while Catholics used to make 30 percent of German society, Muslims are only a 5 percent of the whole population.
 
Participants in the upcoming conference will also discuss the role of religion in social solidarity of people.
 
Munster Biennial Meeting will be held on 25-28 September.
