Iran, Indonesia Islamic universities discuss mutual academic cooperation

Indonesia’s prominent Islamic center has received a delegation of Iranian professors and religious figures to discuss the grounds for mutual cooperation between the two Islamic academies.


Professors from Muhammadiyah University of Sukarta, Indonesia, have admitted academic board from Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations (UID) discussing the grounds for mutual academic cooperation particularly exchange of Sunni professors, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Doctor Reza Saberi, educational affairs deputy of Iran’s University of Islamic Denominations provided a report on different fields of study and international students from different denominations while professor Zarsazan related on the situation of female students and their involvement in different activities at the academy.
 
Hujjat-ullah Ebrahimian, research and technology deputy of the University of Islamic Denominations, in this meeting highlighted the variety of grounds based on which active cooperation between the two Islamic universities could be launched and Doctor Veisi highlighted the potentiality of the Sunni professors as a major part of future cooperation between Indonesia’s Muhammadiay and Iran’s Islamic Denomination universities.
 
Doctor Romeli, president of Muhammadiyah Organization in Sumatra stressed cooperation between the two universities and named educations issues as a major challenge for the organization.
 
A delegation of professors and religious figures from the University of Islamic Denominations is visiting Islamic academies in Indonesia in line with expanding academic cooperation between the two countries.
 
Established in 1981, Universitas Muhammadiyah is a non-profit private higher education institution in Surakarta offering courses and programs on Islamic studies.
 
University of Islamic Denominations aims to maintain the lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) activities of the Islamic seminaries in early Islam based on the principle of proximity. To train a generation of elites and Muslim researchers, training professors on Islamic studies and preachers as well as proximity figures are among objectives of the major Islamic academy in Iran.
