Shia cleric calls for convergence, coexistence with all denominations

Prominent Iranian cleric called for more dynamic view on religion in order to understand and prevail peace, humanity, ethics and also building relations between different religions and human being.


Hujjat-ul-Islam Ahmad Moballeghi, member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, in a conference on role of religions in peace and security rejected excommunicating followers of other religions or denominations calling for building convergence and friendly ties with other denominations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He noted that the reason for lack of proper ties between followers of different religions is that their common concepts and values have not been understood.
 
The cleric called theism as the commonality of all religions and an axis based on which we build our relations, then we will reach good results in relation between religions one of them being, prevalence of peace and sustained security.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Moballeghi stressed that ethics and justice should be set as the basis for interfaith ties and said,” We should maintain a more dynamic view on religion in order to understand and prevail peace, humanity and ethics.
