Sheikh Ali Gomaa, renowned Egyptian jurist, in a televised interview referred to different versions of Sharia law available for Shia and Sunni community stressing the difference is the reason which has tarnished the image of Shia among Sunni Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He alluded to some classical Shia books defining Naskh (abrogation) as resolving a seemingly contradictory law after a newer decree is revealed to replace the previous one, called Bada’ (alteration in the divine will).

He added,” Bada’, in this view translates to a change in God’s idea which is totally rejected in regards to the omnipotence character of God.”

“Today Shia rejects Bada’ similar to Sunni view” said the Egyptian scholar and added,” Some people with ill intentions to excommunicate Shia Muslims from the world of Islam refer to such misconceptions calling them all as void.”

Egyptian scholar slammed those in pursuit of spreading hatred towards Shia among Muslims and said,” We are following unity and seriously reject he who believes in such corrupt thoughts on Shia.”

He also touched upon respect of the Sunni community towards Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam and Hazrat Zahra (AS), daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) denouncing the hostile moves to provoke the minds of Shia Muslims towards the Sunni.
