83 Palestinians killed and 7,000 injured during past month

An official report has revealed that 83 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including ten children, during the past month.

The Abdullah Al-Hourani Centre for Studies and Documentation which is supported by the Palestine Liberation Organization issued on Friday its monthly report on Israeli violations against the Palestinian people. It revealed that there was a significant increase in the number of fatalities and injured people during the past month due to the transfer of the US Embassy to Jerusalem, which also coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Nakba of the Palestinian people.
The report pointed out that 79 Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip border during the peaceful Return Marches and four others in the West Bank and Jerusalem. It noted that the occupation authorities are still holding the corpses of 23 martyrs from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Attacks on Gaza
With regard to the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, the report confirmed the killing of 79 citizens, including nine children, while 6,309 citizens suffered various degrees of injuries, 54 of whom were critically injured, bringing the number killed during the Return Marches to 129 and 13,306 injured, including 330 serious injuries.
The attacks included 164 shootings of farmers and shepherds, 26 artillery bombardments, 50 air raids as well as 20 incursions into eastern Gaza Strip governorates.
The fishermen were subjected to 49 shooting attacks from Israeli boats, which resulted in the arrest of four fishermen, the destruction of three fishing boats, confiscation of one boat and the attempt to sink another.
Finally, on 29 May, the Israeli Navy attacked a ship that broke the siege and arrested 17 individuals on board; they were taken to the Ashdod Port before it released them except for the captain of the ship. The occupation forces also arrested 23 citizens, including three citizens as they crossed Beit Hanoun (Erez) checkpoint.
