Tabriz to play host to Asian Snooker Men's Champ. 2018

"Islamic Republic is going to play host to the 34th edition of Asian Snooker Men's Championship, which is slated to be staged next month," President of the Bowling & Billiard Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed.

"A total of twelve Asian countries have already expressed their firm determination to participate in the continental sporting evening, noting that the number is expected to rise to 20," Hashem Eskandari mentioned.

During the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports (ACBS) General Assembly meeting in the Qatari capital city of Doha on April 28, 2017, Iran won the right to host the 34th edition of Asian Snooker Men's Championship.

The competition will kick off in the northwestern Iranian city of Tabriz on May 6, and will run through May 12, 2018.

Iran participated in the previous edition of the Asian Snooker Men's Championship with four participants.

The Asian Snooker Men's Championship is the premier non-professional snooker tournament in the continent.

The event series is sanctioned by the ACBS, and has been held since 1984.
Mostly, the winner of the tournament qualifies for the next season of the Professional Snooker Tour.
