Leader:

'Enemy spy agencies failed to do any harm to Iran'

"Enemies have waged a large-scale intelligence war against Iran, but their spy agencies have so far failed to do any harm to the country," pointed out Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi and a group of employees at the ministry under his watch in Tehran on Wednesday,  Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said, "We are standing the midst of a large battlefield, on the one side which is the Islamic Republic establishment and, on the other side, a large and powerful front of enemies,” the Leader said.

“The intelligence agencies of the opposite side have so far failed do anything important [against Iran] despite all the facilities they have,” the Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei further outlined different aspects of the “complicated” intelligence war against Iran, saying the spy agencies of the enemy front are playing the pivotal role in this hostile campaign.
“On the agenda of this war are different methods and approaches ranging from ‘infiltration and theft of data’ to ‘changing the calculations of decision makers,’ ‘making changes to public beliefs,’ ‘creating financial and economic disorder’ and ‘creating security mayhem.’”

He also stressed that traces of foreign intelligence systems are visible in the recent crisis that hit Iran’s national currency.

The Leader further drew attention to the need for a serious fright against corruption in the country.
“The issue of the fight against corruption should be taken seriously and the roots [of graft] should be dealt with.”
