Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Monday Israel will not allow Russia to curb its activities in Syria, according to Israeli media reports.
Speaking to Israel's Walla news website, Lieberman said Israel had successfully avoided “direct friction” with Moscow and was maintaining good relations with Russia.
“All options are on the table,” he said. “We won’t allow any restriction when it comes to Israel’s security interests.”
Lieberman also said Israel does not meddle in Syria’s internal affairs. “We only deal with Israel’s security and the Russians understand this very well,” he said.
The Israeli minister went on to assert that Israel would not allow "Iranian [military] consolidation" in Syria.
