As several Muslim luminaries attend the opening ceremony of Islamic Unity Forum in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Saturday, Iran’s Ayatollah Araki lauds the city as a hub of solidarity rather than disunity, as favored by enemies.

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, attended the opening ceremony of Islamic Unity Forum in Baghdad, expressing satisfaction that the Iraqi capital has turned into a hub of Islamic unity rather than division as favored by enemies of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Iranian cleric stressed,” There is no fault worse than division among Muslims since dispersion equals abandoning the religion as it is referred to in several Qur’anic verses.”

He referred to return of the Islamic nation to true religion and said,” Muslims, for years, killed each other and distanced from their Islamic identity though they are in the path to return.”

Secretary General of the World Forum also highlighted the role of Iraqi jurisprudence in boosting Islamic unity in this country and victory over Daesh Takfiri terrorists.

Iranian top cleric expressed gratitude over cooperation of Iraqi authorities in launching Islamic Unity Forum.

Iraqi Islamic Unity Forum opened in Baghdad in a ceremony participated by Shia and Sunni luminaries from different countries.
