Religious clerics discuss setbacks world of Islam besets by

Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought held its 197th edition of its meetings with its members and religious thinkers in attendance.



Chaired by Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought mounted its 197th edition of its meetings with its members in attendance, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Addressing the event, President of the Supreme Council, Ayatollah Taskhiri beckoned to the current setbacks the World of Islam is beset by noting, "Although the Islamic Ummah has faced some problems at some stages, it has always been moving forward and well on the way."

"Of those problems, presence of Takfiri groups can be mentioned here which perpetrated inhumane and malignant measures against Muslims," pointed out the seasoned cleric noting even at this time the world is plunged into a plagued situation.

"The resistance front has played a crucial role in destroying this cancerous movement," underscored the religious cleric. Ayatollah Taskhiri sternly warned of small groups of ISIL which are still active noting they should not be allowed to grow.

Another key speaker in the event was Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki congratulating the attendees on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Sadeq (PBUH).

President of Iran top unity center beckoned to the recent achievements gained by resistance against Takfiris noting these made inroads have paved the way and provide the ground for advancing unity related activities and programs.

Ayatollah Araki's speech was followed by the comments made by Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, the Grand Mufti of Syria on the current political turmoil in Syria and recent conflicts in Lebanon.

The religious cleric called for preserving unity hailing the focal point of religious leaders like Seyyed hasan Nasrollah in foiling the plots hatched by the enemies of Islam.

Sheikh Naeem Qasem, deputy secretary general of Hezbollah along with Iranian Supreme Leader's Deputy Chief of Office for International Affairs and Relations Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi addressed the event hailing the attempt made by the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought in boosting unity among Muslim nations.
