A Palestinian man has been reportedly arrested by Israeli police following a translation blunder turning his Facebook post saying ‘good morning’ in Arabic into a Hebrew phrase ‘attack them’.

On Saturday, Israeli police admitted that had recently detained a Palestinian man under suspicion of incitement of violence but released him after they realized their mistake.

According to Israeli news sources, the lettering of the term “good morning to you all” in colloquial Arabic and the phrase for "hurt them" is very similar.

The post that led to the arrest of the Palestinian man was a picture of him smiling and holding a cup of coffee and a cigarette while standing next to a bulldozer at a construction site.

Israeli forces raid Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds on a constant basis. UN documentation shows that Israeli forces carried out a weekly average of 95 search and detention raids in 2016.

The Tel Aviv regime has tried to change the demographic makeup of Jerusalem al-Quds over the past decades by constructing settlements, destroying historical sites and expelling the local Palestinian population. Palestinians say the Israeli measures are aimed at paving the way for the Judaization of the city.
